From 20 – 25 April 2006 leading Nordic and European performing artists and academics will meet in Malmö, Sweden to discuss and present methods, possibilities and new approaches within artistic practice and research.
For 6 days, Re.Searching invites performing arts professionals to attack, develop and share new knowledge about artistic methods, expressions and traditions.
Re.Searching wants to provide artists with hands-on experience and insights in different methods for research, and to empower the artists to explore their artistic practice.
Re.Searching is about producing and articulating new knowledge about the practice of theatre, dance and performance: knowledge and experience to be used for individual and collaborative work, production and creativity.
Re.Searching is prompted by the growing interest in artistic research and artistic development work in the Nordic Theatre Academies and among practising artists in the Nordic countries. Re.Searching challenges the conditions for further communication and cooperation between the academics and the practitioners in the field of performing arts.
Re.Searching is a first focus on the still new and raw concept of practice-based research in performing arts. The project investigates methods and approaches challenging artistic practice.
